Cupertino Library

In 2022 the Library Expansion was completed, adding beautiful bird-safe meeting rooms which have hosted art shows, lectures, and community meetings. I serve on the Santa Clara Library District Joint Powers Authority (“JPA”) and this year our library will have the childrens’ area updated with art and furnishings funded by the JPA! Additionally, Cupertino’s expanded library hours are funded through the JPA, and not from our city’s General Fund, which I ensured was reflected in our City Budget.

I additionally serve on the JPA Finance Committee which takes a more in-depth look at the financial documents of the JPA, which in turn, helps me evaluate our own city budget and annual financial documents with greater insight and from a different perspective.

Our library is the busiest in the district, which brings the library added funding due to its popularity. It is not unusual to see a line at the door to our library on any given day, which is a true reflection on how much we value and support the Cupertino Library!
